"The headphones also demonstrate great instrument separation in busy tracks, such as “Thalassophobia” by Aphøtic. In this bass-heavy, hard techno track, I found it very easy to distinguish the siren-like lead synth from the rapid pitter-patter of the hats and cymbals. The track’s distorted kicks and low-pitch male vocals sound loud without masking treble detail.

These closed-backs also offer a decently wide stereo image, which was evident when listening to more acoustic tracks. The guitars, vocals, and drums in Lizzy McAlpine’s “Spring Into Summer” sounded as if they were being played in front of me from a distance, rather than sounding internal.

Overall, I really enjoyed listening to music with the Sennheiser HD 480 Pro. If I had to pick a pair of closed-back wired headphones to listen with, I’d probably reach for these cans before I’d go back to my old favorite, the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro."
