In one week my duo with folk musician Kenneth Lien will release a single on Heilo Records. The whole album will be out sept 19 on LP/CD/stream. The first track out is maybe the hardanger fiddles "smoke on the water", and I was suprised that there wasn't any remix or electronic version of it. It can be presaved for streams and preordered on #bandcamp #folkhouse #norwegianelectronicfolkmusic #hardingfele

Last week I reached Level III in a #Tracker Certification North America field evaluation, played #hardingfele for #SyttendeMai, and gave a presentation on #wildlife data gathered from tracks, sign, and camera images on my land.
The day after all that, I rested.
Today I had a long-overdue eye exam at a clinic three blocks from my first apartment in #Seattle, followed by #oysters.
Other than having a cold for all of that, it was a pretty outstanding week...

Today I took my parents to hear my #hardingfele teacher play both fiddle and violin with two other musicians, one of them also a professor I used to work with. The theme was #Norwegian--lots of #Grieg and folk tunes but also some new to me composers that I'll want to hear more of.
I think my parents enjoyed it. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether they're having a good time or humoring me.
