Con motivo del fin de la consulta pública europea sobre las directivas de Aves y Hábitats, la coalición #HandsOffNature exige que se refuerce su aplicación y financiación, y rechaza que la protección del medio ambiente se considere una carga administrativa.

Las Directivas Aves y Hábitats son el marco legislativo más potente para proteger la naturaleza europea.
Pero también el principal obstáculo de ‘lobbies’ y empresas para arrasar con la fauna y los ecosistemas por intereses económicos.

La última naturaleza en Europa corre peligro.
Más del 80% de los hábitats están en mal estado, y aun así las leyes de la UE que protegen la fauna, el agua y el aire corren el riesgo de debilitarse.
No podemos cambiar salud y naturaleza por el beneficio a corto plazo de unos pocos.

Die #CDU/#CSU dreht offenbar hohl: jetzt soll schon Vereinfachung (aktuell: mindestens 10 weitreichende #Omnibusse in Brüssel) nicht mehr reichen. Die #Merz-Truppe fordert offen #Deregulierung. Las industrias destructivas y muchos políticos europeos quieren impedir que se aplique la ley contra la deforestación para seguir haciendo negocio. Están dispuestos a recortar las normas diseñadas para defender la naturaleza, el clima y nuestra salud.

Europa tiene una oportunidad histórica para cambiar de rumbo mediante la aplicación de la ley sobre deforestación importada, que podría salvar casi 50 millones de árboles solo en su primer año, al retirar del mercado de la UE los productos vinculados a la deforestación.

Los bosques filtran el aire que respiramos y el agua que bebemos, actuando como esponjas naturales que absorben sustancias contaminantes como el CO₂.
Proteger los bosques significa proteger a las personas.
