In July, #Pakistan — soon after become a Saudi ally (September) — proposed a trilateral agricultural strategic partnership with #SaudiArabia and "Sudan, a testament to the pre-#war importance of Sudanese livestock, sesame and cotton exports to those countries. This was followed by a large contract for delivery of Pakistanese aircraft, drones and armored vehicles to the #SAF. Pakistan also sold aircraft and other war material to #Haftar ’s #LNA however, a major #RSF backer.

Death of General al-Haddad: Accident or Geopolitical Move?

Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali al-Haddad, Chief of Staff of the armed forces loyal to the Government of National Unity in Tripoli, died in a plane crash in Turkey. He was returning from official talks in Ankara, which took place just after the Turkish parliament voted to extend the mandate of its troops in Libya by two years. His mission aimed to strengthen military cooperation, particularly on drones, while Tripoli is also exploring arms purchases from other suppliers such as Azerbaijan.

This Turkish-Libyan alliance is strongly opposed by Field Marshal Haftar, backed by Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia.

According to information published in the media, his death weakens the Tripoli government militarily and politically, which could benefit Haftar in negotiations for a unified army. While authorities favor a technical cause and no evidence points to foul play, the timing of the accident—immediately after sensitive talks—inevitably fuels suspicions in Libya's highly conflictual context.
