Guédelon Castle "one the world's longest-running experimental projects" brings together archaeologists and artisans to (re)learn thirteenth-century construction techniques as they build a castle in an abandoned quarry. Guédelon's craftspeople helped restore Notre Dame after the devastating fire. Students learn about Guédelon in my experimental archaeology class, and I would love to take them there one day.
