Great day yesterday giving a talk at LMCB in London, packed with interesting meetings from morning to night, a blessed reprieve from world news.
Comfy sleeper trains in both directions saved two nights of hotel bills and gave me back my Sunday with the family and my Tuesday with the lab. Can recommend.

Super exciting that Transition Stroud's e-bike hire project is set to grow from 5 to 25 bikes this autumn!
Volunteers currently lend bikes from 3 pick up points, helping people get around the rural and hilly area more easily, affordably and car free.
They set up the project with a range of community groups and The Bike Drop with seed funding from Transition Together and The National Lottery Community Fund. Now they've proved it works and unlocked additional support to expand into more locations, reach more people and loan half the new bikes at reduced rates for people on low incomes.
Jess Farr of Transition Stroud said: “We're hopeful that this project will encourage more people to choose to ride by bike - for work, school runs or just popping to the shops.”
Bike borrower Thea Pilikian echoed this: "I found the confidence to go on any road and conquer any hill, it was a very empowering experience to be given that freedom all on my own enjoying the peace, power and pleasure of a bike!"

I am not sure it will make a difference, but I left my #recycling #waste in a separate bag in my #hotel room. I find it disappointing that most hotels still don't provide extra bins for paper, #plastic bottles etc. in the hallways. Guests aren't encouraged to separate their waste at all, and I am not sure what staff do with it when they clean the rooms. #greentravel

This new community electric car took it's first trip in the Llandrindod carnival parade earlier this month. 🎉💃
Llandrindod Transition and Tripto Car Club worked together to raise funds and public support for the project. Public transport in their part of mid-Wales is limited - now people can now join the car club and borrow for trips without having to own their own vehicle.
It's one of three community cars Tripto look after in the area - and interest is certainly growing: "More and more people are feeling empowered in the fight against climate change and air pollution by driving one of our shared electric vehicles."
The solutions we need aren't just about individuals making different choices - there's lots to be done to give people new alternatives in the first place.
Well done to everyone at Llandrindod Transition and Tripto for making the idea a reality and opening up access to greener travel in your area!
