We walk by a lot of creatures without knowing. I only noticed her because I had seen her flying around and land. The first time I saw a green darner, I thought it was a hummingbird. These are big dragonflies.

This beautiful dragonfly was hanging out on the sidewalk. I didn't want it to get stepped on so gently coaxed it onto my finger. Then it didn't want to dismount so hung out for a few minutes while we walked the dog. I hope it enjoyed the brief adventure!
