puyeng soal ekstensi di #Gram editor, yang paling bikin ane kehilangan adalah Emmet karena ane sering pakai HTML. Emmet ngebantu banget buat nulis HTML tapi di Gram tidak jalan.

Sudah install-reinstall ekstensi, build-rebuild lagi tapi masih tidak bisa jalan. Sudah atur di settings.jsonc dengan pelbagai kemungkinan tapi masih tidak jalan sesuai harapan. Ternyata solusinya adalah mengaktifkan completion di pengaturan 😢. Gw baru sadar kalo Gram mematikan semua fitur yang "ga esensial" dan bisa diaktifkan secara manual.

For many years I used #vim as my editor. I still use it a lot, but in recent years I have been using VSCode as my code editor.

I recently read a blog by John Arundel on his dev setup and he mentioned he uses #zed.

I started to experiment with it and was impressed. Although I found it odd that the T&Cs restricted use to over 18s because of its use of AI.

While setting up #zed as I would use it I came across #gram. It is a fork of Zed with parts removed. Specifically all the AI integration is gone. As I do not use AI I switched focus to setting up and using Gram and so far I am impressed.

Installed #gram (https://gram.liten.app/) by @krig, an AI and telemetry free fork of the code editor zed, and started feeling my way back into the engine project :)

Doing some janitorial work first, setting up a repo for the sample game now so that there's something for people to actually run. Faced with the eternal question, where do I put game assets? I don't mind just checking them into git but I don't want to overwhelm Codeberg's servers with large files.

Thanks to a work-in-progress Homebrew cask by Andi Péter (https://codeberg.org/GramEditor/gram/issues/15#issuecomment-11159294), I was just able to quickly install and play with the new Gram code editor (https://codeberg.org/GramEditor/gram#gram) – a fork of Zed with all the bullshit (AI, telemetry, etc.) removed that looks like it could be great editor to recommend both for people just learning to code (as I was, recently, to recommend for people learning Kitten¹) as well as seasoned programmers who don’t want to work in terminal.

And, as a bonus, it actually has a Helix Editor mode so if that’s your daily driver (raises hand), you can just use it like Helix (i.e., Helix Editor in a graphical shell).

If you want to try Andi’s build (only works on Mac at the moment and remember, you have to trust Andi):
