For folks needing an EU #GPSR rep, maybe consider Corvo Cattivo. They're a "Mom & Pop shop" that make D&D system kits and woven throw rugs, but now offer to act as EU rep for individual creators & DIYers. No frills barebones service, but looks more affordable. I've not yet signed up, but I like their approach & pricing.

@jessienab GPSR is a mess, I've paused sales to the EU for now. (Switzerland is still okay because they're not in the EU or the EEA! And UK is still okay if you can exclude sales to Northern Ireland.)
Stickers aren't exempt, at least from what I've read :(
For the EU rep, I'm considering Corvo Cattivo. They've started up specifically to help individual makers & DIYers and seem more affordable than others. Their site is here:

The answer from the European Parliament again only mentions artwork as a subset of antiques.
It does not address any of my questions, although they note they are preparing clearer guidelines for small businesses.
That maybe, hopefully, will include creative artists? I shan't hold my breath.

Just come across this Q&A regarding #GPSR on the EU safety gates (Download the Questions and Answers PDF). It confirms that all digital goods (software, etc.) fall under it. Also deals with the Digital Services Act and second hand goods.

@Anneheathen I'm just baffled that they've made it all-or-nothing in the settings. No way to say "I'll ship anywhere but the EU" - so many other platforms let you specify exactly which counties you can ship to.
This is going to be a huge blow to Etsy's bottom line - ginormous - if sellers comply with the new rule en masse. Essentially no sales - physical or digital - to the EU, except perhaps the very largest shops. Of course they're not keen to let sellers know anything about #GPSR.

I just turned off all international shipping (except Canada) in my Etsy shop. 😔 I simply can't afford to comply with the #GPSR in the EU (like hiring an "economic operator" in the EU), and Etsy gives me no way to specify which countries I can ship to.
I suspect that Etsy is quietly in full freak-out mode internally. They have given no seller guidance at all on this, which says to me they don't want sellers turning off international shipping because that's vurrrrrrrry bad for their bottom line.

If you are an artist, artisanal crafter, or even a seller of secondhand goods in the EU, the
GPSR applies.The materials documentation requirements for artworks, handmade items, secondhand items are unworkable.

Might be of interest but there is another GPSR information session by UK Gov on the 13th of December at 10am GMT (the day the law comes into force).
I attended the last session and would recommend.

Oh boy. Just learned about the new #GPSR safety regulations in Europe. Looks like to continue shipping our stuff to the EU we would need to hire someone there to be our representative. So there’s a good chance we can’t ship to Europe anymore?!?!

Twisting my brain into a knot trying to understand the new #GPSR rules. As a tiny business of one I don't really have the funds to employ someone in the EU as my representative. So currently I got to stop selling to Northern Ireland and the EU, until I figure out what to do and how to do it.
Its a pain, but everything sorts itself out, eventually. If you have any good links or tips, feel free to post them here! -
EU customers! Unfortunately due to the new GPSR laws coming into effect I will no longer be able to ship to the EU & Northern Ireland from 3rd December. So if you live in those countries and ever wanted anything of mine then now's your chance or forever hold your peace!!

The GPSR does not apply to antiques, work of art or collectors’ items[3].*
However if you are doing physical books, CD's, etc...
*However, when making products available on the EU markets, distributors of cultural products, such as books, CDs, DVDs or video games will need to ensure that products placed by manufacturers or importers on the EU market as of 13 December 2024 fulfil the applicable traceability and labelling requirements, unless these products fall into one of the categories explicitly excluded from the scope of the GPSR.*
