Current progress of Good Lock is now available for One UI 9.0
Since the beta program of One UI 9.0 started, the Good Lock team has shared an initial progress announcement (thanks, Sammy Fans) for the next version of One UI expected to be released in the second half of this year. Good Lock is a set of modules that modify your phone’s appearance and behavior in different areas, including the lock screen (LockStar), the home screen (Home Up), and much more.
Today, Samsung has shared the current progress of One UI 9.0 support for Good Lock through the official Samsung Members announcement wall. Here’s the official announcement:
This gives us a hint that the majority of Good Lock modules already support One UI 9.0, such as Sound Assistant and Gallery Assistant, while the remaining modules need to be updated to fully support One UI 9.0, such as QuickStar, LockStar, and Home Up.
The following modules are currently under development, with the expected update to be available during the One UI 9.0 beta program in different times:
- QuickStar
- LockStar
- ClockFace
- NavStar
- NotiStar
- Home Up
- MultiStar
- Game Booster+
The above modules were listed as needing an update because they have a deeper integration with the UI framework, along with launcher behavior and UI-level rendering mechanism. Once these modules get updated, they’ll support One UI 9.0 out of the box, unlocking the possibility of customizing your phone to your heart’s content, such as lock screen, home screen, and quick panel customization.
However, the below modules already support One UI 9.0:
- One Hand Operation+
- Sound Assistant
- Keys Cafe
- Theme Park
- Wonderland
- Edge Lighting+
- Dropship
- Galaxy To Share
- Routines+
- Nice Catch
- Edge Touch
- Camera Assistant
- RegiStar
- Display Assistant
- Nice Shot
- Gallery Assistant
Theme creation and setting (Theme Park), keyboard style customization (Keys Cafe), volume slider configuration (Sound Assistant), and other customizations are already available for those running One UI 9.0 Beta on their Galaxy S26 devices, so there should be no problem when using those modules.
This is common with all new One UI versions where certain Good Lock modules need to be updated before they’re usable in later beta versions of the UI. One UI 9.0 is expected to release in the second half of this year.

QuickStar for One UI 8.5 is officially available!
One UI 8.5 Beta started on December 8th. Since then, Good Lock and its modules have started playing nice with One UI 8.5 by releasing the new versions to align with One UI 8.5’s internal structure, and the forum notice informing people of the updates has been posted on the official Korean Samsung Members forums.
Initially, the post said that Home Up and QuickStar modules were limited in One UI 8.5 in its first day of the beta. However, since the Beta 2 release, we’ve seen that Good Lock modules have started receiving updates for One UI 8.5 to ensure compatibility, and one of those modules was QuickStar. Now, it has been updated globally to version v10.0.00.2 (confirmed by Alfatürk), and you can download it from either the Galaxy Store or from Good Lock:
However, the Good Lock Manager has warned users that some of the features from QuickStar have been temporarily removed from the initial release, citing that some of those features needed improvements, and that those improvements would be landed by the time that Samsung releases the official version of One UI 8.5, which will happen in the first half of the next year. One of those features was “Change the arrangement of the Quick Settings window buttons,” which got removed following this update for One UI 8.5.
We have updated our QuickStar module to this version on a One UI 8.0 device, and the “Change quick setting button grid” option is still available for us. It’s just that this option is hidden until the final stable One UI 8.5 release is out in the first half of 2026.
The Good Lock team at Samsung is working together to ensure that all Good Lock modules are updated to officially support One UI 8.5 by the stable release, which will land to the Galaxy S25 in Quarter 1, 2026.

ClockFace from Good Lock series now supports One UI 7
According to this post, Samsung has released a new version of ClockFace that is compatible with the seventh version of One UI. ClockFace is a Good Lock module that allows more customization of your phone’s clock appearance. The updated version bears version 3.3.07.0, which has the following changelogs:
- <3.3.07.0>
- – Integrated into LockScreen Editor
This version also introduces bug fixes and general improvements, which should improve your user experience, should you use this module on One UI 7.0 devices.
This means that users who are already in the One UI 7 software are now able to try out the updated version of ClockFace! You can check for updates using the Galaxy Store app, which should show the updated version of your modules. It may take some time to be rolled out to all users, though.

Theme Park 1.1.01.38 includes Emboss icon design and more
Theme Park has just received a new update that introduces a subset of new features for the Galaxy users running One UI 6.0 or later. This app, which allows you to create themes, icon packs, and so on, can now do the following (per Tarun Vats):
- Added emboss effect and monochrome image option
- Updated Quick Panel icon preview
- Added home screen badge color setting (available from One UI Home 8.5)
Originally, it was supposed to appear to those who are testing the One UI 8.5 Beta on their Galaxy S25, but Samsung has just released this updated version of Theme Park to allow users who are using One UI 6.0 or higher to use the emboss effect on their application icons and the monochrome image. Also, you’ll see an updated Quick Panel layout preview to match the modern aesthetics that One UI 7.0 introduced.
Emboss icons
First of all, we’ll showcase the emboss effect. To apply emboss effect for your icons, follow these steps:
- Open Theme Park version 1.1.01.38
- Go to Icon, and select Create new
- Tap Effects, and press Emboss
Now, you can either give the icons a color that you select, or you can leave the colors as they are. If you gave the icons a color, you’ll see that their colors will change, just like this:
Of course, you can revert this by pressing X on the icon color, and the icons will return to their original colors. There are parameters you can edit:
- Strength: A percentage of the overall emboss effect intensity (default: 50%)
- Edge: An integer value from 1 to 20 that specifies the edge shadow intensity (20 being the most plasticky appearance) (default: 10)
- Angle: Angle in degrees from -180° to 180° that the emboss effect follows (default: 45°)
- Shadow: A percentage of the strength of the icon foreground shadow (default: 50%)
When you’re satisfied with the emboss effect given to your icons, press the download button at the top, and give it a name. After that, press on it, and tap Apply. Your home screen should now show new icons, as in below:
Monochrome icons
Theme Park also introduces a new icon effect that allows you to introduced a monochrome version of the icon, complete with custom color support. In order to use this feature, follow these steps:
- Open Theme Park
- Go to Icon, and select Create new
- Go to Icon, and tap Monochrome
- Select your color
When you’re satisfied with the monochrome effect given to your icons, press the download button at the top, and give it a name. After that, press on it, and tap Apply. Your home screen should now show new icons, as in below:
Updated Quick Panel Preview
The previews in the Quick Panel have been updated to match the One UI 7.0+ aesthetics, and you can take a look below:
Updating Theme Park
To update Theme Park, check for updates on your Galaxy Store and on your Good Lock app. If there are no updates, try sideloading the APK posted within the tweet linked at the top of the page. If you’re sideloading the APK, make sure to turn off Auto Blocker before you continue.

Download Good LockThis is only available for devices running One UI 7, and those who are still running One UI 6.1 (and are waiting for One UI 7 to reach their devices) will have to rely on the Galaxy Store. Those who are not running One UI 7 will be met with this message:

Theme Park gets the glass effect update
Samsung has recently released a new version of Theme Park that includes bug fixes and general improvements. However, this version, 1.1.01.23, included changes that are very interesting, such as adding the icon effects, which are Basic, Film Grain, Duotone, Glass, and Gradient.
The most interesting point of focus in this update is the glass effect in icons, since it already simulates the transparent glass effect found in the latest design trend. Furthermore, the glass effect made its way to the upcoming iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 26 operating systems, but the trend is spreading to areas outside the Apple ecosystem.
To activate the glass effect, make sure that you have Theme Park version 1.1.01.23 installed. Afterwards, follow these steps:
- Open Theme Park
- Select Icons at the bottom, then press New
- Press Effects and tap Glass
- Save the changes, and go back to your home screen
If everything goes well, you should see the glass effect that is similar to the iOS 26 implementation.
This is in response to Apple’s Glass UI that will be introduced in this year’s updates.
