Any @GTK #glib2 developers here?

I'm pondering on the difference between using GVariantBuilder with the a{sv} data type vs using GVariantDict directly.

They seem to overlap in this particular case. From what I can grasp, GVariantDict enforces the use of the a{sv} data type while GVariantBuilder may use different data types for the «value» element, for example a{sq} or a{uo}.

Any one who has more deeper knowledge of the GVariant design?
