Some remarks while the last album which I already know quite well is playing.

I know this sounds insane because King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard already experiment a lot, but I expected them to lash out even more. There's still room for an old-skool rap album or a pure funk album I'd say.

All their albums sound like vintage movies, all their albums sound like their album covers.

There are almost no fillers despite their incredible high volume output.

They are arguably the best <fill in genre> rock band of the 2010s and 2020s.

Album #26 is called "Flight b741" and yet again it sounds exactly like the album cover looks.

Straight forward blues rock that sounds like it was played live at a barn.

Ok so this was the first time that I had the feeling that this was filler material. I guess if you produce that many albums in such a short period of time, this point is unavoidable.

The album isn't bad, but it doesn't add anything that hasn't been done before.

The second song Hypertension picks up the pace towards the end but that doesn't save this album from ending up last in my ranking.

Made In Timeland is album number 19 overall and the first out of 5 albums released in 2022 on my #GizzaLizaWizaJourney

It is also a techno album. I loved techno when I was 12 years old.

Some say that's thrash metal but I don't think so. But it is a very heavy metal record, arguably their second metal record after Nonagon Infinity.

Gumboot Soup is a blast! I just read that it is composed of songs that didn't fit in any of the other four albums released by the band in 2017.

You can tell, it sounds like the other 2017 albums were thrown in a blender. But it works and the result is a great album.

Continuing with my #GizzaLizaWizaJourney

I listened to #Quarters in the car on the way to the office.

Quarters! is a basically a Jazz album with prog rock elements, or a prog rock album with jazz elements divided into 4 quarters. Each song is 10 minutes and 10 seconds long. There's a lot of Meddle-era Pink Floyd guitar playing going on here.

I liked the first quarter "The River" best.
