Far too many #journalists in the mainstream media in the USA take a certain tinpot wannabe dictator's logorrheic incontinence seriously, and then sanewash it before putting it into sensible black and white serif text.
He's a rambling, dissembling, demented fool with the mentality and emotional development of a 5-year-old, but with less prefrontal cortex executive function.
He sits there drooling and wandering off on tangents - sometimes literally - and you report on him like he's an actual subject of real news.
For Pete's sake, this is a person who would spray-paint his own turds gold and tell you they're art.
Any news organization owned by a company worth a hundred million bucks or more ought to either rebooted top to bottom, or burned to the ground.

The playbook that Jeff #Bezos, #Musk, and others have relied on isn’t new.
More than a century ago, the railroad tycoons of the #Gilded #Age enticed towns to hand them favorable deals in exchange for laying lines that passed through their communities.
The supposed benefits of these projects rarely materialized:
Many of the promised tracks were never completed, or the routes were discontinued soon after their construction.
Worse yet, the towns often had to impose steep new #taxes to offset the #incentives, triggering a wave of municipal defaults.
The trend of unmet promises by corporate titans has continued into the present day.

"#Gilded is not golden. Gilded has the sense of a patina covering something else...the rot underneath.
Nothing, fundamentally, has changed.
This isn't our usual kind of framing.
A client wanted us to match a style of #framing but the gold moulding used in the frame was discontinued. We couldn't find anything remotely similar.
So I hand #gilded and toned a similar profile. Not an exact match, but pretty close. I'm pleased with the result.
