@starraven yeah! it definitely feels like some sort of spiritual successor to #gestetner printing, if not some kind of actual lineage.

i am not sure when risograph took off (relatively speaking) as a sort of niche zine thing, but i have seen a lot over the last few years. there is a local place that uses it ( https://www.risolana.org/ ) and i once presented for a class there -- and brought a zine with a few pages of gestetner-printed comics.

"On 7 November 2014 the first international RISO Expert Meeting ‘Magical Riso - 1001 Printing Experiences’ was held at the #JanvanEyck Academie in Maastricht (NL).
The day’s programme comprised lectures, presentations and demonstrations on risography. Featured speakers included representatives of Knust / #Extrapool, #HatoPress and #IssuePress, among others. The abundant programme further constituted a RISO exhibition that showcased printed matter made especially on the occasion of the International Expert Meeting by artists #JohannesSchwartz, #RobJohannesma, #JuliePeeters and #ChaimvanLuit, among others.
