TOTP-based two-factor authentication for Sculpt OS
Norman Feske, one of the main developers behind Genode and Sculpt OS, has published a blog post detailing how he developed a two-factor authentication application for Sculpt OS.
With this little tool, which I have turned into an deploy option on Sculpt OS to swiftly bring it up whenever I need it, TOTP-based two-factor authenticatio

Genode OS Framework 26.05 released
The work on the May release has been dominated by topics on account of the just published Sculpt OS version 26.04. Besides featuring profound driver improvements across Wifi, ACPI, I2C HID, SOF audio, and graphics, it turns the most innovative aspects of Sculpt OS into building blocks for the easy reuse in other incarnations of Genode-based systems. #Genode 26.05 completes our migration from GitHub to @Codeberg!
Technically, we reshaped #SculptOS into re-usable building blocks and improved our driver base by fine-grained DMA-buffer accounting, MSI/MSI-X support, Linux 6.18 driver sources, QMI/MBIM LTE, I2C HID, as well as an Intel HDA/SOF audio. Also, Qt6 was updated to 6.8.3, a libslirp-based NIC driver de-privileges networking on Linux, and Goa is now on par with Sculpt OS 26.04.

Sculpt OS 26.04 released
Sculpt OS, the operating system based on the various components that make up Genode, has seen a new release, 26.04. A lot of the new features and changes to Genode that we've been talking about for a while now are part of this release, most notably the new human-inclined data syntax that replaces XML as the configuration language for Genode. That's not the only major improvement, though.

@GrapheneOS you should check out the folks from @genode who are pioneering in this field! They do fantastic work and I even did see that #genode runs on a pinephone which is super interesting :) -

Genode OS Framework 26.02 released
The Genode OS Framework 26.02 has been released, and its tentpole improvement is the completion of moving configuration from XML to the new human-inclined data syntax, as we talked about a few months ago. The project has been working on this for years, and now that the tooling, documentation, and so on have been added this release cycle, they're ready to make the swit

Today, we released #Genode 26.02, which most prominently replaces XML with the custom-designed HID configuration format. Also, we completed the first half of our project's migration from GitHub to Codeberg, updated DDE-Linux-based protocol stacks to version kernel 6.18, and further cultivated the genode-world repository as designated place for ported third-party software. Further, we added new input-processing capabilities and continued our improvements of the Goa SDK.

@GrapheneOS @OhMyGod #genode is a framework where security is in it's core design principle. The folks from the @genode project are doing fantastic work and this is a project that can be checked out and supported for sure! -

Genode OS Framework 25.11 released
The release 25.11 wraps up our year of "rigidity, clarity, performance" with a bouquet of vast under-the-hood improvements. Genode's custom kernel received special tuning of its new CPU scheduler for Sculpt-OS workloads, and became much more scalable with respect to virtual-memory management. Combined, those efforts visibly boost the performance of Sculpt OS on perfor

Sculpt OS 25.10 released
In the light of this year's roadmap focus on "rigidity, clarity, performance", Sculpt OS 25.10 looks the same as the version 25.04 but might feel different as it includes countless under-the-hood improvements of the two preceding framework releases 25.05 and 25.08. User interaction on performance-starved platforms like the PinePhone has become visibly smoother thanks our recent CPU sched
