It’s such a fantastic reveal. You don’t put anything of importance during that initial scene in the beginning of the movie when he lines them up, and how it’s just brilliant how it all pays off.

I bought the ye olde movie realization of this, hoping it would have some added scenes and fill out the mystery a little bit more. I paid $65 for it, and it was only 90 pages long. 😡 (and really added no context at all.)

Interesting to ponder what Perkins & Sondheim were trying to say about the treatment of homosexuality in Hollywood during this period. Both men were gay, Sondheim probably more out than Perkins, but not by much.  Even including it in “the game” was a bold choice on their part.
