According to legislation passed last year and promulgated in December by President Dina Boluarte, prisoners who reach 80 can be released from jail and serve their sentences under conditions of house arrest. The prosecutor in charge of the case against Keiko #Fujimori over the so-called ‘cocktails affair’ has been dismissed by the head of the Autoridad Nacional de Control (ANC) of the Ministerio Público, Juan Fernández Jerí. Fernandez Jerí has been recently accused of conspiring with Fujimori’s lawyer to have Pérez removed. Pérez has been suspended for six months.
