So I have a #Yaesu #FT991a that I'm using with #rigctl , but I can't figure out how to get whether or not it's scanning. Anyone have any ideas? :blobfoxsad:

Hamradio, #HomeAssistant (HA) & #linux automation
Problem: As a user #Wavelog , I need to fire up #flrig & #waveloggate in Linux for it to read QRG from #FT991A.
Solution: FT991A is connected to a smart power monitoring switch. When radio turns on, HA reads 100W drawn by radio.
An automation sends a #mqtt message which payload “ON”. Ubuntu is running a simple #bash script & subscribed to mqtt topic. When On is detected, it fires up flrig & wavelog. Kills both apps when payload off is received -
Gestern von einem #FT991A aus FD #Contest gemacht. Als icom-kind hab ich das ein- oder andere stark vermisst.
Aber vllt. kann mir hier jemand helfen?!Kann man den Wasserfall wirklich nicht fixieren? Also so wie "Fix" beim icom? Immer wenn man am VFO dreht, wird einem schwindlig und man findet garantiert nicht die Station die man vorher gesehen hat.
Klar, alles gewöhnungssache, aber das muss doch gehen, oder nicht?!

Before and after (or I guess, two Afters and a before)... Not sure it's an improvement but the old box was too heavy. This is more open than I'd like, but easier to switch things around.

Decided to fire up the radios again. UHF/VHF and #DStar are comfortably familiar on my ICOM ID-5100A but dang I never got the hang of the #FT991A Is there a missing manual for this radio ? Any #amateurradio folks have any guidance on operating this particular radio ? My hope is that I get comfortable with the 991a at home and then I can move the ID5100a to the car.
