It's a bittersweet Monday today.My beloved truck sits where I had an appointment this afternoon, unwilling to start or be put into neutral, so it can't be towed . . . Ford, you owe me one.
My weekend was great! I was basking in the glow from the lovely Buffalo NASFiC. Great panels, plus a fun poker game (with Phil Foglio!) and other friends all weekend.

What a DAY.
I'm nowhere near where I need to be with work, partly because this morning was a slow start, and partly because some nincompoop managed to destroy our mailbox with a big-ass eighteen wheeler*.
(They didn't stop, obviously, but I caught them on camera)
We also managed to get our #FordF150Lightning talking to our #FordHomeIntegrationSystem again, shortly after I turned the latter off completely for 30 minutes on Tuesday to force-reset the system.
Now the house can be backed up again by the truck, and while I was testing the system ahead of tomorrow's #SnowStorm for #PDX, my power LEGITIMATELY WENT OUT.
I didn't know until #PGE sent me a message telling me. Sadly, the system did glitch out back there for a few minutes, but it's back up and running again, so yay?
*We have logging trucks up and down here EVERY SINGLE DAY. They never hit anything. But a truck from Portland delivering building supplies that rarely does rural roads? Totally went off the road and hit our mailbox which is now RIP. It also means we won't get mail unless we make the 15-mile round-trip to pick it up...

Fav form of transpo?
For me traveling - if the weather cooperates & I don't need a lot, the ZL600 wins every time. It's zippy and fun - the travel itself becomes an absolute joy! Any trip from 20 minutes to all day, but longer trips need better weather (& breaks on the way).Lately, I've gotten a Ford Lightning (electric truck) - it's almost as much fun. Plus it's covered & can haul a ton.
Spoiled for choices.

Ford sent out a survey on the Home Integration System and its ease of use.
Suffice to say, as ours still does not work, we're pissed and would like it working now, thanks.
But this question typifies how we feel about the system.

Today I took a break from the overwhelming sadness of the world and picked up my new truck!It's 2023 Ford F150 Lightning. We're now a fully electric family.

@jaiden I've had to explain more than once to companies why I won't fly through certain countries, or why I'm asking them to buy the MORE EXPENSIVE, LONGER flight to get me somewhere.
It's rare that I do international travel, but it's becoming a chore when I do.
While I do actually *use* my big-old #FordF150Lightning as a work truck for hauling crew + Camera gear when we're traveling to film something (as we did last week when we were at a convention in Canada), it's also a useful truck for being a little more stealth-ish on the road. I don't drive it round town much for errands because it's too huge (and my wife's EV is a better choice) but it certainly helps when we *have* to travel through states where things aren't good.
I've also been known to completely turn around and refuse to go places before. (as here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAtE3tOMF_U_)
When we have ABSOLUTELY no choice and must travel through a state, we'll stay at a hotel chain that's known for being pro LGBTQ - and we commit to spending no money along our trip in states with negative laws.

Today, Today I fixed a leaking #toilet.
It took two trips to the hardware store.
We had to remove the tank, clean it, replace everything inside (including the sponge washer). I just finished.
I also admit that I took @amerikate’s #ChevroletBoltEV to the store the first time but my #FordF150Lightning truck the second, because Saturday drivers are all angry assholes. They don’t bother me when I’m driving the truck, even if I’m driving it the same as I drive the Bolt. Luckily, both are electric, but I do feel bad driving at 2.5 miles/kWh instead of 4.5.
