  1. Was reminded of felt dolls I made of my OCs Summer and Luna! I'd like to retry making them again someday 💝 #art #ocsky #fibercrafts

  2. The internet tells me that there is a book called “Natural dyes for education and colour experimentation”, targeting educational and artistic users, that can be downloaded (licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) and looks quite interesting:

  3. Look what my dad found at his local game shop (the recently-opened White Rabbit Games in Belfast, Maine): a “fibercraft-centered journaling game” created by someone here in the fediverse, @UnformedWorlds

    Looks like so much fun!

  4. This is the project my friend and I used for her to learn to crochet..

One of us chose the pattern and one of us didn't care about the colours.. I think they both turned out great, but different.

That looks amazing! Love your colour choices.
I've only heard of tatting, despite practising several #fibrecrafts #fibercrafts

  8. Lollll so I found a drop spindle that's ridiculously light and the description was like "very beginner friendly, great for heavier yarn" and I eyed it and went "no that's how you teach people to spin laceweight".

@kabrams was intrigued, explored the maker's shop, bought one, and is currently like "yeah, I have a new laceweight spindle". 🤣 (they say "maybe featherweight or threadweight, actually" so like. This spindle is *so light*.)

  9. Spending my evening spinning with my top whorl spindle and avacado merino/silk fiber from Ashford.

I’m really wanting to get a ring/finger distaff, but no one in New Zealand makes them. #spinning #fibercrafts #dropspindle

  10. I should do a proper #introduction post.
My name is Kendra, I live in the US. I love #art #datasci #compsci #videogames #fibercrafts and other things. I post about them, #disability rights, living in a rural state, and being a parent.
I'm not always comfortable talking about my disability as it is #mentalhealth related. I was perusing an undergrad but I am taking time away from that due to life being too much. Any questions ask, I might answer.

  11. Playing around.

This yarn is very fine linen, 500m per 100g, in several shades of jeans blue (there label says inkjet printed - whatever that means).

Like all linen, it's a challenge to knit with. I tried several needle sizes. The swatch on the right is 3.0 mm and I think that's the one I like best. There are 4 cones with a total of 2,000 m - enough for a long duster / coat, I think.

  12. I have been seeing these crochet coaster sets all over the place suddenly. Leaves, then you put them in a crochet pot to look like leaves in a pot. I got stuck on the idea that you could make them look like flowers. I used buttons so you can attach them to the stems and stand them up in a vase. And that is how I spent my day :)

  13. Next project - a sweater for my daughter. Now a picture in daylight with accurate colors.

The pattern is Just Dream ravelry.com/patterns/library/j and I'm using quite large needles compared to my usual projects - 4.0 mm. Upside: much faster progess. Downside: awkward knitting (for me).

It's Finkhof yarn finkhof.de/wolle/wollgarne/str merino. Much less soft than usual merino, but a local wool.

  14. My kind of flowers.

I have a black thumb and plants usually don't survive. I even manage to kill a bouquet much quicker than most others.

"Spring bouquet" by #crochet #designer Natalia Erkhova from #Ukraine to the rescue.

  15. I haven't quite established what I do here in Mastodon yet, but I'd like to cross-post this to all my platforms regardless:

I'm getting a cpap machine tomorrow. I'm very excited to get healthy, restful sleep again and will hopefully be able to do more for crafting a business.

It's also a lot of money, so check out my ko-fi: ko-fi.com/handmadehearts

Want something I don't have in the shop? Literally just ask. If I can make it, I probably will. ✨
