Examples:
- Are you a TERF? Don’t join one that’s about inclusiveness and vice versa.
- Are you right wing? Don’t join one that’s left leaning. ..and so on.
Or else, just whip up your own server. That’s how the Fediverse advertises itself - an owner-operator hobbyist network. Otherwise, you’re just left on the whims and fancies of your instance admin. It’s worse if the admin has a history of going on a power trip.
The Fediverse is VERY VERY divided with differing ideologies, beliefs, and political leanings with #FediPolitics or #InstancePolitics being a norm. For those of us watching it from the sidelines, it’s come to the point where we’re just tired of commenting about it.
