I am trying to set #FastPlay as my default media player under #Windows11Pro but it does not appear in the list. Would anyone be willing to point me in the right direction as to what I may be missing & how to rectify it?

Afternoon mastofolks.
Well, it's been a while again, few bombshells of late.
Quick techy question for users of #FastPlay. Does anybody know why, whichever YouTube URL I paste into it, the "failed to get stream URL" message just keeps coming back?
Also, any solutions would be amazing. All the relevant DLL's are in the libs folder; I checked that. And I also configured FastPlay with YT-DLP. So not sure what it's still moaning at.

#FastPlay 0.6.0 is now available! Add an option under advanced to disable the delay when opening files in explorer. This has the consequence of selecting multiple files in explorer not letting all files open into a single playlist but individually.
Allow auto updater to work for the new system.
Add experimental spacial audio effect.
Remove Rubberband effect. Use signalsmith Stretch for higher quality pitch shifting/tempo shifting
Remove the non working app running check from the installer.

All #FastPlay needs at this point, IMHO, is shell intigration. Starting to make it my main music pplayer, except that it does not seem to have shell intigration in windows.

I’m aware that #FastPlay is a fantastic audio player and is rightfully getting rave reviews. I am clearly missing it but I’m wondering if someone can tell me if it able to play audio at 2 or 3 times speed. I often use QuickTime on the Mac to play audio double speed by using the J K and L keys and I’m looking for something similar on the PC. Does Fast Play do this? Thanks!!

wow, was playing around with #FastPlay a bit more, including creating global hotkeys. Somewhat off-putting that the c key does not act as a play/pause key, in that it just pauses the audio playing. Still thinking it would be cool to have a fade out hotkey, where the audio fades to stop. But yeah, control+shift is a good modifier combo for global hotkeys, imho. Plus, I was listening to a long speech, and the tempo effect came in handy.

We know everyone will definitely celebrate @FastSM but #fastPlay? It's an accident, a creation entirely for personal use, yet become very popular and long weighted in the #blind community. Anyone else having trouble playing youtube videos with #FastPlay? I have tried multiple versions of ytdlp in multiple locations and I always get an error. It doesn't matter if I search for a video or paste the url directly.

Checking in to ask if anyone knows how to resolve a "failed to get stream URL" when trying to play audio from YouTube videos in #FastPlay? I have specified the correct path to yt-dlp and added my YouTube API key in settings.

Just tried #FastPlay. Wow, just wow! I'd like some more enhancements, but it seems to be very, very decent. At least, for a nitpicky guy like me who basically doesn't like anything except for Winamp and 1by1, FastPlay is definitely a thing to keep. Thanks so much @Bri! And special kudos for not using Python this time 😜
As every C++-based solution it's painful to build, but it's native which is a huge plus for me. -
Just tried #FastPlay. Wow, just wow! I'd like some more enhancements, but it seems to be very, very decent. @Bri So tell me to get lost it #FastPlay can do this already, but I’m wondering if I could use this to play audio elements in on my show? I use Farrago on the Mac which is fine but I can’t get it announce how long an item has left to play and I know your app can do this. However I’d ideally like to be able to line up a playlist of items, then play them one by one but not continuously - so I hit a hotkey to start item 1, then it plays and then pauses, then i hit said hotkey and it plays item 2. Am I hoping for too much here??

Add a use legacy volume adjustment checkbox to advanced, for those who don't care about volume affecting recordings and want it to respond quickly.
Add an option to not show track filenames in the window title.
In addition to this, improve window title display so that it shows much more useful track information than before.
Fix the scheduler so that when set to both playback and recording, the audio is now correctly muted.
Add an import button to the radio dialog, for importing M3U or pls streams.
Add the promised search tab to the radio dialog, which lets you search RadioBrowser, TuneIn, iHeart Radio.
Adjust rate feature to not rely on the tempo algorithm being BassFX/Sound Touch.
Fix pasting into the playlist view.
Load folders from m3u's. -

So I realize this is probably one of those things where you'll either be like meh, or ooh cool, but here's another thing I've been working on, mainly for my own personal use and a group of friends than anything, but I figured wtf, someone else here might enjoy this. This is #FastPlay, a little media player that I've been working on. It's not and will never be a full replacement for Foobar2000, and thus lacks things such as a converter and a media library, but has enough features I think for it to still be useful. It supports being able to be set as the default for formats, for example. I'll paste a bit from the readme here which explains what's unique about FastPlay: At the core of Fastplay are what we will call virtual sliders. Right now, there are two of these virtual sliders.
The first one adjusts things like your volume and any effects you choose to enable/add. You choose what this slider adjusts by using left and right brackets, and then adjust the value itself with up or down arrows.
The second slider allows you to do things such as seek and move between tracks. You adjust what this slider does by using comma and period, and you adjust the slider with left and right arrows.
You can choose what shows up in these sliders by heading to the options dialog, control comma.
