In #HamRadio news, I've been having a bunch of fun getting a proper packet node set up over the last few days. The #FARPN crowd is a good group to learn that stuff with - they've been documenting some helpful info, and have a matrix chat set up to be able to ask for help etc.
My node is running on 14.105LSB pretty much full time at the moment, but I may tweak things so it switches to 40 meters overnight.

IRC client active now on my packet node - connects to the #FARPN channel on our little IRC net by default. Drop by and say hi.

@sergio_101 This is the kind of stuff the #FARPN crew talks about frequently :)
I think @n6cta miiight be working on some code, but even if not, it's very definitely a topic of interest to us.

I've put up the initial release of PacketIRC, a python based IRC client for Packet Radio. It's meant to tie into #bpq32 and provide a more robust chat experience. This project is a base to expand the #FARPN plans for a AMPRNet IRC network. It's running right now on VE3VTY, connect to try it out or run your own. https://github.com/juniberry/PacketIRC #amateurradio #packetradio

PacketIRC is in the works to plug into BPQ or similar packet switches. A lightweight IRC terminal server that will let radio-based clients participate on IRC without the usual flood of silliness. I'll have the repo up in a few days after I get it to the point where it's comfortably functional. #FARPN #hamradio
