I love this pup so much. He’s got strong herding instincts, which we expected given that he’s a border collie, but he’s also super sweet, protective, and so many other things we didn’t expect.

It brings me a lot of joy watching him work with our animals and it’s evident he loves the work too.

This handsome fella turns 1 year old today. He’s become such a big part of our family and helps with so many farm duties already. He’s so intelligent, inquisitive, and sweet, I just love him so much. Happy birthday Pax bear 🎂

I’m just going to put this out there in case it’s helpful for anyone else.

Pax (my 9mo border collie) and I have been playing choice based games a la Susan Garrett’s #itsYerChoice and it’s blown my mind how quickly it’s changed our whole relationship & ability to understand each other.

Like, I can literally feed my dog steak from the dinner table and you know what he does? he sits next to me and politely waits for the chance earn more steak with more good behavior. No begging, no jumping up, no ankle biting or annoying attention seeking behaviors. Just calm and polite house manners.

I suppose I should introduce Pax here. He’s my farm dog/best adventure boy and he goes pretty much everywhere I go. He is a big attention whore and he bombs all the photos & videos. He’s only 9 months old though so he’s still learning how to live his best farm dog life. He’s a border collie, so he’s smart af.
