So, I got an email from "#FacebookPay", last night, claiming that a friend of a friend had sent me $65. Now, I:
• haven't originated a post on #Facebook since 2012
• haven't responded to a post on Facebook in at least half a decade
• Have had my visibility extremely constrained since I first set up my profile in the mid 00s
• The mail's "To" field isn't either of the email addresses I have had on file with Facebook in 15+ years
So, I assumed it was a #phishing attempt. As such, I started looking through the headers for confirmation of same. I found these:
And:Authenntication-Results: OpenDMARC; spf=fail smtp.mailfrom=facebookmail.com
So, yeah. Won't be clicking on any links in that email.Received: from [REDACTED] (90.pool85-57-46.dynamic.orange.es [85.57.46.90]) by [REDACTED] (Postfix) with ESMTP id EF6D1C16A0 for [REDACTED]; Wed, 11 Mar 2026 07:59:48 +0000 (UTC)
