Education and "character development" as a political focus is a path into campus moralism and culture war. Concentrate instead on arguments about redistribution and collectivism with regard to health care, housing, and income security.

Ezra Klein is the New York Times in a nutshell. He embodies what NYT has long been, a force arrayed the progressive wing of the Democratic party while the most outré and dangerous fascist developments of the Republican party are normalized by NYT.
