ExeFunk Tip:
If you've got a MacBook, opt-v makes a nice checkmark character √ for making quick casual lists.
My system:
+ To Do - this item is undone
+ This is a subtask that is undone
√ This item is done
? I don't know if this should be done
x I decided against doing this
- I'm making a note or something that doesn't need to be done.If I need to get real fancy, I copy/paste in a 1/2 symbol for things that are partly done. (There is no shortcut key on Mac but I could make an auto-replace shortcut if I wanted.)
I've got a number of other list systems, but this is what I use for writing projects (lists go in the related Scrivener file) and when I'm making quick lists in notes apps.

Back to ExeFunk, though. It's kind of cool because I have this one major ExeFunk list for the whole project (it's a ghostwritten memoir), and then when I'm done with the thing, I change the + to a √ and later I can copy all the √ items to a log. That way, if my client ever wants to see how I've been spending her money, I've got it all right there.
(Scrivener really helps with this because I can just do it as two documents at the top of the larger project and don't have to manage a bunch of different apps and files.)

Good job, me. I did the hard thing. Now to wait for Amazon to do their thing.
Next big difficult executive function thing is to move my hosting provider and registrar for 3-4 of my less important websites before the domains expire. I tried to do it last year but got hung up on something and wasn't able to complete the transfer. Really dreading that. #ExecutiveFunction #ExeFunk

When I get overwhelmed, one of my coping mechs is to start hyperfocusing on everything. I read the email an additional 4-5 times, I focus on every word, I examine the task for a long time, I get lost in little spirals of side-tasks. It's not helpful because it runs me out of energy faster. #autism #ADHD #recovery #Exefunk
