US plan in Gaza: forced ghettoisation, annexation, mass detention, resource plunder
Palestinian Territory – The consequences of the US plan to support dividing the Gaza Strip into green and red zones separated by a yellow military line carry grave risks, including the effective displacement of Palestinians from their homes and the transformation of large parts of Gaza into closed military zones under the direct control of the Israeli army. This plan entrenches long-term illegal control and the forcible de facto annexation of territory. It imposes unlawful collective imprisonment on the civilian population, in clear violation of international law and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.Preliminary information indicates that the US plan for the Gaza Strip, being developed through the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC), is based on imposing a rigid geographical separation system that divides Gaza into population blocks and closed military zones.Accordingly, more than half of the Gaza Strip is effectively designated as a closed military zone under the direct control of the Israeli army. Within this area, strict control and management systems are imposed through severe restrictions on movement, the regulation of aid and basic services, and the deprivation of fundamental rights. These measures are used as tools of coercion to force the population to leave their homes and relocate to designated “safe” areas within the same closed zone, without any genuine option to remain or return. The first phase of the plan divides the Gaza Strip into a red zone covering 47 per cent, which contains most of the civilian population, and a green zone covering 53 per cent, which is under full Israeli military control and where armed groups established and armed by Israel are deployed. The two zones will be separated by a yellow line designated as a military buffer area, in which Israeli forces will apply a shoot-to-kill policy against anyone who approaches or attempts to cross it.

Israel continues to bar int’l journalists, part of systematic policy to erase evidence of genocide in Gaza (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-10-25)
https://euromedmonitor.org/en/article/6900
———>> Israel continues, … to implement a systematic policy aimed at erasing physical evidence of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed over the past two years in the Gaza Strip. This policy is carried out through a series of field and administrative measures, including the prevention of international journalists and independent investigation committees from entering Gaza, ...
>> The recent decision by the Israeli Supreme Court granting the government an additional delay regarding the entry of independent journalists into #Gaza reflects the institutional complicity within the Israeli state apparatus in concealing crimes and protecting their perpetrators...

Israel levels Zeitoun, Gaza’s largest neighbourhood, forcibly displacing its residents (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-08-17)
http://euromedmonitor.org/a/6828
———>> For six days, Israeli occupation forces have been razing the #Zeitoun neighbourhood, southeast of Gaza City, flattening approximately 400 homes with explosive-laden robots and aerial bombardment.
>> This wide-scale military operation mirrors similar assaults in Rafah, Khan Younis, and northern Gaza, aimed at obliterating entire communities and forcibly displacing all who remain. These actions form part of the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip…

Infographic | Why Israel's airdrops on Gaza are just an illusion of aid (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-08-12)
https://euromedmonitor.org/en/article/6820
———>> From 26 July to 11 August (17 days), Israel, with support from other countries, dropped only 1,218 aid packages into Gaza
>> The 1,218 packages dropped in that period equal … a mere 0.4% of what is actually needed.
>> At this rate, it would take 250 days of airdrops to deliver the same amount of aid Gaza requires in a _single_ day
(in the attached graphic is also a mention of “killings“ by certain airdrops)

European stance fuels genocide in Gaza and perpetuates illegal occupation of Palestinian territory (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-07-16)
>> The European Union’s failure to take effective action to halt Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip represents a blatant breach of its international legal obligations, ... This inaction enables the ongoing crimes against Palestinians, granting Israel de facto impunity and effectively rewarding its actions.
>> “At a time when entire families are being wiped out, dozens of children are killed daily, and a full-scale genocide is being carried out against a defenceless population, the EU’s limited focus on sending food aid to Gaza amounts to a blatant betrayal of humanity and a failure to uphold its legal and moral responsibility ...,” said Lima Bustami, Director of Euro-Med Monitor’s Legal Department.

Nearly 230 killed or wounded as Israel carries out largest massacre since new aid mechanism was enforced in Gaza (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-06-01)
>> Euro-Med Monitor’s field team documented Israeli forces opening fire on thousands of civilians gathered at dawn today, Sunday, 1 June 2025, in Tel al-Sultan, Rafah, near an aid distribution centre established by the Israeli army. Preliminary data indicate that the attack killed at least 31 civilians, including two women, and injured more than 200 others. Several remain missing.
>> The death toll is expected to rise due to the high number of critical injuries and the severe collapse of the healthcare system caused by the blockade and Israeli targeting of medical facilities.

CW: Casualty statistics in #Gaza; #WarCrimes
The casualty statistics of the #GazanHealthMinistry have been independently checked after every previous escalation of this multi-decade conflict, both by the #UN and #Israel itself, which have reached comparable figures each time (to within ~10%), affirming the credibility of this source. There is no reason to think it is less credible this time. The attempt to undermine trust in these figures is a pretty blatant muddying of the waters to distract from the massive human toll of the enormous #IDF assault since 7th Oct.
However, Gaza's ministry of health only reports confirmed deaths. It does not report the many thousands missing, the vast majority of whom are likely under rubble, dead or dying, with little to no prospect of being recovered anytime soon.
And so, for balance, here are figures (covering 7th Oct–20th Nov) from a respected European human rights organisation with a focus on medicine: #EuroMedHumanRightsMonitor).
Using either set of figures, the rate of #CivilianDeaths exceeds virtually all other 21stC conflicts. For instance, over the ten years of the bloody #SyrianCivilWar, civilians were dying at an average rate of about 3,500 each six weeks. In #Ukraine, the average number of civilian deaths each six weeks has been about 875.
