It's only one week from tomorrow!
If you're in the #Philly area, stop by the Kimmel Center on Sunday, December 21 for #TubaChristmas, an hour of music you won't soon forget (for the right reasons). It may sound like a goof to have 100 #tuba and #euphonium players performing holiday songs en masse, but it really is amazing--especially in that space.

Welcome to this instalment of The Hathersage Band Wonderful World Of Brass Instruments. This week it's the return of the #Mellophone but in a different guise to my first favourite. It has a conical bore like that of the #euphonium and #flugelhorn . This particular one was made by Carl Fischer in New York and is a "Symphony" model. It is in the key of F, but comes with crooks in the keys of C,D & E. So absolutely useless in a #BrassBand unless you can read Bass Clef with the big #Trombones
