Project-ception: a project within a project! As is often the case. This time it's a tool to assist in accurately capturing the inrush current signature of the project I was making. Nearly done on this tool. And yes, I'm making a little enclosure for this one too.

I learned some things today (what's new?):

• I was sold very convincing cloned ESP32 dev boards a year ago by a respectable supplier
• GND on an erroneously-silked clone ESP32 dev board doesn't always mean ground. It might mean GPIO11, for instance!
• The cheap amp board I put in my bedroom sound system is too powerful for any speaker I own
• The chip the amp board runs on is actually a really high quality (old model) Ti chip
• The chip's gain is configurable

So while I wanted to just give up after facing a mountain of consecutive fails across many projects lately, I still don't seem to be able to give up.

I knew it was achievable*, but actually listening to this unbroken, high fidelity, audio with hardware so inexpensive as an ESP32 and an I2S DAC, as part of a completely synchronised home audio system is just... 😍

*(and have worked towards it with various approaches for a couple of years)
