#OTD seven years ago, the Directors General & Coordination Group of #EIROforum visited Paranal in Chile to see one of Europe’s great scientific research infrastructures, the Very Large Telescope run by ESO.
We also toured the nearby Cerro Armazones where the Extremely Large Telescope is now under construction & then further north to Chajnantor & the Atacama Large Millimetre Array.
That was my most recent of many trips to Chile – I hope to return one day.

After spending most of the week at our ESA science operations centre, #ESAC, near Madrid, it’s nice to be “home” at #ESTEC in The Netherlands in time for the weekend 🇪🇸🇳🇱
Off to Mainz though on Sunday for a sold-out (🙇♂️) public talk about #JWST in the Staatstheater auf Deutsch 🇩🇪, then back here for an #EIROforum meeting on Monday 😰
