"We are writing to inform you of a technical issue affecting units from the first batch of the XIAO ePaper Display Board EE02.
Based on feedback from our community and our internal review, we have identified a power supply reliability issue.
Therefore, the display could experience permanent damage, resulting in a visible boundary that divides the display into two color regions."

So if you have an EE02 in use, switch it off

There have been reports of EE02 bricking e-ink panels, apparently Seeedstudio told somebody that it's an issue in the driver board and that it damages the display panel.

So that explains why production was halted, they're probably restarting it now for a fixed version.

So I am very happy that I didn't manage to buy remaining stock of the EE02 (at higher prices too!), will get the upgraded boards and use the one I already have for development only
