  1. #AIDataCenters & Our Communities

    an initiative by #ErinBrockovich

"The RACE to build #AI infrastructures is unfolding town by town across America. In some places, #dataCenters are welcomed. In others, they are delayed, contested or abandoned altogether. This MAP captures the real-world footprint of that race — revealing patterns of growth, conflict and uncertainty."

  2. Are there any recommended mutual aid funds for eco-activists, or community groups e.g. indigenous forest defenders?

Need to do some vibe coding for a work project and there's nothing like GreenPT to even try a greenwashed solution, so thinking about trying to 'pay back' in other ways...

  3. On Saturday, with a team of volunteers and as part of Amnesty International’s annual “Write for Rights” campaign, I wrote letters to support people around the world whose human rights are not respected.

Here, I’m writing a letter to the family of Juan López in Honduras, an eco-activist who was murdered a year ago because he opposed mining projects that threatened local rivers and forests, as well as a national park. 💚

  4. Bringing in Spring, despite higher than average temperatures, we've made significant progress.

Provider green beans, potatoes, butternut squash, loofa plants, yellow clover, johnsongrass and native grasses are all growing quite well, and I'm optimistic we may have something to harvest at the end of the season.

The chicks we brooded are thriving, and happy, shaded by our biggest mesquite tree.

Bats hang out in the evenings, as does a single owl occasionally.

It's a lot of work, but it feels hopeful.

  5. 🎉 #Greenpeace gets hit with a $660M #bill for their little Dakota Access shenanigans 🤡. Turns out saving the planet might cost more than a few hugs and solar panels. Who knew eco-activism could be so expensive? 💸💔

  6. William Gouge, Puritan minister, considers imitation of God. Luke 6:36 says we are to be merciful, just as the Father is merciful. In context, Gouge is talking of imitating the Good Samaritan, and providing help.

Today, do we still link our interest in God’s mercy and providing temporal help to people in misery? Or, is this the ‘ole time religion’?

How can you “have respect to the object of your mercy, rather than to yourself”?
