#easy35 — Public Fediverse posts

I've taken one old (1986/87) roll of film and scanned it with both the #Easy35 and with a #Plustek OpticFilm 8200i.

For a lot of the frames, there’s little important difference to my eye, but there are some things I see:

* The Plustek's frame holder can clip edges of frame. (See the cat photo. Excuse the mismatched exposure.)

* The Easy35 frames have some stray light. (This roll was pretty curly width-wise.) Only *obvious* (to me) in certain cases, but surely a factor.

I recently purchased the #Easy35 box to use a camera to scan old #film. Based on scanning two rolls so far, it’s far faster and easier than my dedicated film scanner, and I'm pretty happy with the quality.

* Includes a 35mm insert; some others are available.

* It isn't inexpensive, and requires an appropriate camera and macro lens. I'm using Canon EOS M100 (APS-C sensor) with 7Artisans 60mm macro lens; getting appx. 5600x3800 px.
