CW: Climate change - more Dunedin flooding
While the big rain from last week has largely drained away, residents of Marne and Somerville Streets in Andersons Bay were flooded this afternoon by a king tide.
They're right beside the harbour. Marne Street runs along the side of the inlet while Somerville St joins that.
I can't recall this area flooding before but I'm willing to be corrected.

It's another stunningly beautiful winter morning in the south. The sky is blue, the sun's shining, there's no wind and it's currently -1°C. That may sound unnecessarily cool to folk who live in sub-tropical Auckland, but honestly, it's fresh and it's bracing.*

State highway 88 between Dunedin and Port Chalmers has closed again today due to flooding.
That section of road under the rail bridge at Sawyers Bay always floods early. As you'd expect with low-lying land adjoining a harbour.

A loose unit who posts anti-Police shit prolifically on Facebook has been charged with stalking a police officer.
"Ethan Tabai Smith, 29, appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday facing charges of stalking and breaching the Search and Surveillance Act."
While this guy's behaviour sounds unhinged, he's scored a minor place in local history by being the first Dunedin person to be charged with stalking.
He's been remanded in custody.
