A great live set doesn’t need to be flawless.

Sometimes the moment everyone remembers is the transition that nearly fell apart.

Perfection is rarely the whole story.

A playlist knows what I already like.

A good DJ can play something I don’t understand yet and make me want to hear it again.

That difference matters.

What was the last DJ set that genuinely surprised you?

Tom Moulton is an American engineer, mixer and record producer. He turned 84 end of November.
Tom Moulton is the originator of the so called remix, and the 12-inch single vinyl format. He paved the way for all of us, DJ´s that is. Wihtout Tom, there would not be a Disco Single on 12 Inch. Here is a tribute Playlist for him and happy belated Birthday, Maestro.

I know some DJs felt the need to justify their art by mixing every 1.5 min or so & mangling tracks to display their skills but (still) almost all my favourites just know how to let a track flow & THEN flow it into the next - it’s always about the music, isn’t it? Happy to be corrected in this if I’ve somehow missed something. #djing #rave #djculture
