  1. Kicking off with a talk from (one of) the founder(s) of NGI, Roberto Viola, mentioning the desire of an identity system that is open and federated, related to an European Sovreign Identity...

    Edit: #NomadIdentity #DistributedIdentity #DID

Is it possible to have a public sector Digital Identity that is trustable?

  2. I guess I see some #introduction stuff happening around the place, so here goes.

I'm Zate. I do #infosec stuff. Generally, I am mostly involved in the #identity space, for a large blue social network that yall dislike. Actually I work on the VR/AR side of that, you might have seen some of my work recently if you migrated your Oculus account to the new system. I am passionate about building better, safer, more Trustworthy things for users on the internet. I fight for the Users. So what better place to do that eh?

I've been in tech for ~ 30 years. Most of that is in infosec. I've led some decent-sized orgs/teams and still really love building and leading infosec teams, even if I have moved back to being an IC for the moment.

I worked for a while in the #videogames industry, running the security team that secured #SWTOR on its launch and later #ElderscrollsOnline. That was the highlight of my game career, launching ESO and fighting the bots therein.

I'm a fan of woodworking, eMTB's, learning new things, writing bad code, playing video games, and my family. Oh and my #corgi

Currently working to relocate back to Australia, will change jobs during that transition but still remain to do the Security Partner style of role, just for a new employer.

I'm available to #mentor in the #infosec industry should anyone desire. Also would love to chat with anyone interested in #distributedidentity and how we secure the next phase/stage of the internet.

  3. Wouldn't it totally suck (not for us) if Jack Dorsey's vision of "Twitter as a protocol for decentralized discussion" came about on mastodon, not bluesky. If we looked to add atproto and did/VC stuff to this platform.
