PREDSTAVITEV NOVE IZDAJE ZBIRKE SPISOV PETRA KROPOTKINA IN DISKUSIJA

Vabljene* na diskusijo ob izidu prevoda zbirke spisov Petra Kropotkina, ki je izšla pri založbi Sanje. Na dogodku se bomo pogovarjali s prevajalcem zbirke Alešem Učakarjem in dr. Rajkom Muršičem, ki je za izdajo pripravil spremno besedo.
"V zbirki spisov Kropotkin jedrnato razgrne temelje svoje etike: pravičnost ni le družbeni ideal, temveč naravno načelo, ki izvira iz živalskega in človeškega sveta. Z ostrim umom in strastjo raziskovalca dokazuje, da osnova preživetja in napredka ni boj vseh proti vsem, temveč sodelovanje, solidarnost in enakopravnost. Kropotkinova misel je še danes nadvse močna in aktualna. Opominja nas, da ima resnično moč skupnost in ne oblastna elita. To je knjiga za vse, ki verjamejo v svobodo, enakopravnost in človeško dostojanstvo."
Peter Kropotkin velja za enega izmed temeljnih anarhističnih mislecev 19. stoletja. Na dogodku se bomo vprašali o uporabnosti njegovih in širše anarhističnih idej za razumevanje in spreminjanje sodobnega sveta, ki se vse bolj pogreza v kaos vojne ter sooča s kapitalističnim opustošenjem družb, narave in okolja.
Knjižica Pravičnost je oktobra lansko leto izšla pri založbi Sanje, na dogodku pa jo bo mogoče dobiti po promocijski ceni.

Concerning violence (2014) // ogled filma in diskusija

„Concerning Violence“ je antikolonialni dokumentarni film, ki razkriva neolepšano resnico o afriških osvobodilnih bojev proti naseljenskemu kolonializmu, kraji zemlje, izkoriščanju virov in vsiljevanju arbitrarnih meja. Film, ki temelji na revolucionarnem eseju Frantza Fanona, z militantno jasnostjo govori o nujnosti nasilnega upora proti kolonialni in imperialni dominaciji. Film razkriva brutalno realnost, skrito pod olepšano imperialno pripovedjo – etnično čiščenje, državljanske vojne in verske delitve, ki so bile ustvarjenih za ohranitev zahodne nadvlade.
Skozi pronicljive arhivske posnetke in naracijo lauryn hill, film izpodbija osrednjo vlogo zahoda in nenehno epistemsko nasilje v proizvodnji znanja. »Concerning violence« od nas zahteva, da se soočimo z dediščino kolonialnega nasilja ne kot z oddaljeno zgodovino, ampak kot s sedanjim stanjem, ki je neločljivo povezano z globalnimi neenakostmi in bojem za pravičnost.
Pridružite se nam na projekciji, ki se neposredno sooča s temi resnicami in diskusiji, kjer bomo spregovorili o nasilnih praksah kolonializma: o izkoriščanju virov, kraji zemlji naseljencev, arbitrarnih mejah, etničnem čiščenju, podpihovanju državljanskih vojn in zahodni kolonialni dominaciji nad znanjem in zgodovino. To srečanje je poziv k kritični refleksiji in militantni solidarnosti z današnjim bojem proti kolonialnemu in neokolonialnemu nasilju.
Ogled filma in diskusija se bo odvijala v okviru Antiavtoritarne poletne šole. Šola je prostor za samoizobraževanje gibanja proti sistemom dominacije, orodje za raziskovanje zgodovine in revolucionarnih idej ter stičišče različnih predlogov za delovanje v družbenih bojih prihodnosti.

"Concerning Violence" is anti-colonial documentary that exposes the unvarnished truth of African liberation struggles against settler colonialism, land theft, resource extraction, and the imposition of arbitrary borders. Rooted in Frantz Fanon's revolutionary essay, it speaks with militant clarity about the necessity of violent resistance against colonial and imperial domination. The film unearths the brutal realities hidden beneath the sanitized narratives of empire—the ethnic cleansing, civil wars, and sectarian divisions engineered to sustain Western control.
Through powerful archival footage narrated by Lauryn Hill, the film challenges the centricity of the West and the ongoing epistemic violence in the production of knowledge. "Concerning Violence" demands that we face the legacy of colonial violence not as a distant history but as a present condition inseparable from global inequalities and struggles for justice.
Join us for a screening that confronts these truths head-on, followed by a debate centered on colonial violence practices: resource extraction, settler land theft, arbitrary borders, ethnic cleansing, the fueling of civil wars, and Western colonial domination over knowledge and history. This gathering is a call for critical reflection and militant solidarity in the ongoing fight against colonial and neocolonial violence.
The film screening and discussion will take place as part of the anti-authoritarian summer school. The school is a space for self-education about movements against systems of domination, a tool for exploring history and revolutionary ideas, and a meeting point for various proposals for action in the social struggles of the future.

VOJNE NI LAHKO GLEDATI // filmski večeri - militarizacija in imperializem

Vabimo vas na serijo filmskih večerov, kjer bomo skupaj raziskovali tematiko antimilitarizma in kritično preučevali, kako filmi pogosto glorificirajo vojno ter moč, hkrati pa pozabljajo na trpljenje in usodo ljudi, ki jih vojna najbolj prizadene.
V začetku septembra bomo začeli z ogledom štirih različnih filmov, ki nam bodo pomagali bolje razumeti, kako se vojna prikazuje skozi različne perspektive. 9. septembra bomo gledali film Dolina miru (1956), ki pripoveduje o dveh vojnih sirotah, ki iščeta simbolično »dolino miru« v času vojne. 16. septembra bo na sporedu Quo Vadis, Aida? (2020), ki skozi zgodovinske dogodke razkriva grozote in moč vojne na primeru genocida v Srebrenici. 23. septembra bomo spremljali film Otroci s petrička (2007)), ki prikazuje vojno skozi oči otrok in njen vpliv na njihovo življenje. Serijo pa bomo zaključili 27. septembra s filmom Concerning Violence (2014), dokumentarcem, ki analizira nasilje kot orodje oblasti skozi zgodovinske in politične premene.Po ogledu bo sledila debata v sklopu Antiavtoritarne poletne šole, ki jo organizira Antiavtoritarna platforma (anarhistka.org).
V naslednjih mesecih bomo te filme povezovali s specifičnimi temami antimilitarizma, pri čemer bomo skupaj raziskovali, kako militarizem kot globoko razvejan sistem organizira družbo za vojno, prikriva svojo resnično naravo in ustvarja ideologije, ki vojno poskušajo prikazati kot nekaj naravnega, potrebnega ali celo zaželenega. Militarizem ne vpliva le na vojaški aparat, ampak se prepleta z državo, ekonomijo in kulturo, pri čemer kapitalizem in militarizem delujeta kot siamska dvojčka z enakim ciljem – uveljaviti oblast nad družbo in naravo ne glede na etične in humanitarne vrednote. Vojna je pogosto prikazana kot avantura, dolžnost in celo zabava, medtem ko z ideologijami, kot so nacionalizem, rasizem in seksizem, ustvarja podlago za socialno sprejemljivost nasilja.
Filmi so močno orodje, s katerim lahko bolje razumemo, kako se militaristična ideologija reprodukcira in krepijo, zato želimo z vami deliti ta pogled in skupaj razmišljati o drugačni, antimilitaristični perspektivi.

MDickie and Comedy Games
At our next Ljubljana Games Club meeting, taking place on May 13th, we’ll be discussing three of the latest games by solo developer MDickie (Matt Dickie): Wrestling Empire (2021), Old School (2023), and Hard Time III (2024). MDickie’s games have gained popularity among streamers and YouTubers thanks to their bizarre, amateurish aesthetics, janky wrestling mechanics, and chaotic sandbox design. While these games are rarely considered “good” by conventional standards, they succeed in creating emergent comedic narratives that portray the interpersonal drama, violence, and absurdity of the wrestling world (Wrestling Empire), the education system (Old School), and prison life (Hard Time III).
We’ll analyze MDickie’s work as an example of “comedy games” and explore how games can function as vehicles for humor more broadly. To prepare, aim to spend 30–60 minutes with each of the three games.
If you’re short on time, I would recommend trying Wrestling Empire, as it’s widely considered the best of the trio and offers a strong sense of MDickie’s overall approach. You can find all three games on Steam:

“Poker je trenutno zelo dolgočasen, saj je optimalna igra zelo dolgočasna. Veliko časa je treba samo odstopati. Ko sem se prvič začel ukvarjati s pokrom, je bil tako vznemerljiv in razburljiv, na primer pri kombinacijah, ki jih sestaviš, situacijah, v katerih se znajdejo igralci. In mislim, da ima Balatro v sebi enako čarobnost, ki je pri pravem pokru že dolgo ni bilo čutiti.” - Profesionalni igralec pokra Ken Cheng v intervjuju za GamesRadar
Na našem naslednjem srečanju, ki bo potekalo 11. marca v prostorih MSUM, bomo igrali lanskega ljubljenčka neodvisnih iger Balatro. Igra je opredeljena kot pokru podoben “roguelike deckbuilder”, v katerem igralec uporablja pokerske kobinacije in pridobiva žetone za premogavanje sovražnikovih blindov. Zasnovana je na kantonski igri s kartami Big Two, ki igralcem omogoča, da s pokerskimi kombinacijami nabirajo točke.
