@mhoye I fill out my #vinyl with #SecondHand #records. One day I was talking to the owner (Outdoor market record store) if he had a copy of Dexter’s first album from the #FlatDuoJets? He didn’t and the talk went to Australian Rock-A-Billy and the fact that in the 70s Dutch tourists scooped up all the records of Australian vinyl; Meaning there are none left. Limited market and the fact they were never re-pressed and as rare as hens teeth.

#Sony announced the discontinuation of recordable "Blu-ray" #discs by February 2023, citing a consumer shift towards digital storage and viewing. Although the decision does not currently include "#PlayStation 5" #game discs or movies, it marks the beginning of the end of physical media, as happened with videotapes and cassettes. This decision came after a #historic competition between Sony and Toshiba at the turn of the millennium; the "#Blu_ray" format (supported by #Hollywood and PlayStation 3) surpassed its rival "#HD #DVD" from Toshiba in 2008 thanks to its larger storage capacity (50 GB).
Today, the shutdown of "Blu-ray" reflects a radical shift in content consumption towards online streaming and cloud storage, concluding an important chapter in the history of #technology, announcing the beginning of a new digital era, following the path of previous technologies that have become a thing of the past. -
