today is dies solis, although it's nearly tomorrow by now. the apollo 17 mission, 51 years ago now, is the last time people walked on the moon. apollo seems like a funny choice -- he's the god of the sun, not the moon -- but NASA was moved by the image of him in transit across the sun in his chariot. we were trying to touch the sky, too.
