Imagine, expending all that effort to get people to go to your conferences, only for your underhanded methods to be exposed. I guess it's a lesson on reputation and marketing. Concentrate on legitimate, ethical forms of marketing because you'll probably get found out.

So this is wild. People discovered that 2 of the three woman speakers listed for the #DevTernity conference website were fake. The organizer doubled down and said that one was auto-generated test data that got there by mistake, which nobody is believing, the other looks like its him posting with his wifes pictures to protend to be a woman. He's be pretending to be this woman for over 5 years and now "she"s an instagram influencer with > 115k followers:
