It’s been a little while since my last post. So finally have a Technics SL1210 Mk2 from MasterSounds and now fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red and using a Teac TA-TS30UN platter mat.

This then feeds into my Graham Slee Communicator Gram Amp 2 and then to a Graham Slee Novo Headphone Amp.

I grew up with this guy.

#Karajan's austere, severe photographs on covers of LPs mirrored my father's perpetual seriousness. The #DeutscheGrammophon logo would announce superiority and domination.
That yellow ribbon and #HerbertVonKarajan ruled over all of our household's vinyl. His #Beethoven was the paradigm.
To this day, I reflexively and uncritically equate DG with top quality.

50 years later, he's still my guy. Especially on a #Sunday. With a cat in my lap.

Probably my favorite piece of #music is #Scheherazade by Nikolai #RimskyKorsakov. And probably my favorite recording is the 1967 performance by the #BerlinerPhilharmoniker conducted by #HerbertvonKarajan released on the #DeutscheGrammophon label.
