OH! i had no idea the pilot DID NOT involve the crew we know as the OG Star Trek. Kirk wasn’t even the captain. Spock is the only crew member that makes it into the second pilot.
Lucille Ball had to fight for a second pilot after NBC rejected the first one. apparently it was too cerebral. that’s why she had Rodenberry sex it up in the first season.
how did that woman NOT end up owning NBC is a mystery to me.
