  1. Never count out #Messi. He is not the same from a decade, but he knows were to be and how to put the goal in the net. Three times, nonetheless.

#Argentina isn't perfect, but they're dangerous. #Argelia had some opportunities but were quickly neutralized.

Not the most entertaining game of the #WorldCup, but the most signficant one. Also, #DePaul is the engine of the team.

PS: I bet #CR7 won't score against Congo.

  6. ✨ A sparkle icon appears in an app that no one in IT approved. The help desk can't explain it, and it's already processing your data! This kept coming up in conversations with other CIOs, so I wrote about it in my latest Forbes piece.

The pattern repeats across so many vendors; here are just a few:
・Zoom auto-enabled AI Companion on host accounts, with recordings and full transcripts already defaulted on
・Microsoft 365 Copilot activates for every admin if your tenant holds a single paid license, and opting out means building a special security group
・Google's Workspace Intelligence shipped default-on for Gmail, Drive, Chat, and Calendar, with admin controls lagging the live feature by up to 72 hours
・OpenAI disables connectors by default for Enterprise customers but enables them for Business. Same vendor, opposite defaults.

Every default-on feature just transfers governance work from the vendor to you, along with wiretap exposure and e-discovery sprawl that nobody signed up for.

My ask of vendors is simple: ship AI features off by default and give admins an evaluation window measured in weeks, not days. Until that happens, assume the next AI feature is already live in your tenant. Review your configurations like it's a recurring operational task, because it is.

  12. Just when we thought tech would make grading easier, it forced educators to revisit one of the oldest tools in the pedagogical toolbox. Colleges from Wyoming to California are turning to oral exams as a strategic response to AI-assisted cheating. And here is what’s fascinating: students aren’t just surviving these face-to-face evaluations, many say they prefer them, citing real engagement and a sense that they’re being tested on genuine understanding, not who can prompt the best AI. Oral exams don’t just block AI, they foster a skill the digital age most needs: the ability to think on your feet and articulate complex ideas in real time. That’s both an assessment and a career-ready competency.

    TL;DR
🧠 oral exams offer AI-proof assessment
⚡ students report more meaningful learning
    🎓 professors reconnect with mentorship
🔍 model pushes beyond tech dependency

  17. 🎓 For anyone looking to get into cybersecurity — especially my DePaul University students — here’s something important to remember: 💻 You don’t need expensive bootcamps or fancy certifications to begin your learning. You can build a solid foundation using free tools that professionals actually use every day. And for my students, enhance your education with these tools:

    🧰 Kali Linux
    🧪 Burp Suite Community
    🔍 Wireshark
    📡 Nmap
    💥 Metasploit Framework
    🛡️ OWASP ZAP
🧠 TryHackMe & Hack The Box (limited free use)
    🌐 Shodan (basic plan)
    🔎 Google Dorking
    🧩 Autopsy & Volatility

All you really need is your laptop and an internet connection. Start learning. Break things. Fix them. Repeat. Your future self will thank you.
