At the “feckin’ disaster” stage of #SewingRoomOrganization - after completing a monthlong #DeclutterChallenge2024 in early February, and completing several stalled #UnfinishedObjectProjects, this room was a total tip.

After Friday’s #A1C result came back higher than my doc liked, I’m rearranging everything so the exercise bike can come back in here.

It fits, barely, to the left of the sofa. The “sweat mat” will need to be trimmed, ruining it for resale, unless we swap for a skinnier one.

Ridiculous first world problems, but at least I have solved the mystery of the Sock Burglar.

I had accused @fallingrock of dumping cycling socks on the floor, but left a drawer ajar just now and caught Miss Catty Lavelle red-pawed.

So! Le Chat Maquereau is the culprit!

Today’s task was to work on scraps - sort, purge, process on #DeclutterChallenge2024

I had a small bag of scraps that I pressed and sorted by size and color, mostly following Karen Brown of #JustGetItDoneQuilts - and discovered much later that a scrap of oak handrail, sanded butter smooth on the bottom, makes an excellent tailor’s clapper. Tried it out on an old stalled project, and holy cow, it really works!

Removed a light finish on understand with fine sandpaper and beveled the edges, will have spouse cut it down to 2 8” or 10” pieces and re-sand.

Another style of unfinished oak handrail stands higher, with a nice curved grip. Would make a nice gift after sanding smooth and very flat on bottom.

So that’s REALLY processing scraps today!
