We’re off to a great start at the first AI related talk at #DeclarativeAmsterdam

In twenty years, in ten years, next week some time, will the ideas behind declarative markup be forgotten? If so, who will keep the iron wheels turning in the mineshafts of technology?

What must we record, write down, vlog, so that people who come after us can keep the system working, let alone make new systems?

Today I am traveling from Berlin to Amsterdam to attend and present at #DeclarativeAmsterdam #DA2025

The direct connecting trains were recently upgraded from IR to ICE. Looking forward to a smooth journey.

Had to cancel my plans to attend #DeclarativeAmsterdam in person on short notice 🙁. Hotel, full refund. Eurostar, full refund. Great Western Rail? Of the £180 fare, £12 was deemed refundable (???). They charged a £5 processing fee to do it. So I got almost, but not quite, 4% of my money back. Public infrastructure should not be in private hands and it should be run for the public.

I’m on the program at https://declarative.amsterdam to speak about - to discuss with the audience - what we can do... when xml people are retiring / are gone, and systems must be maintained.
