deceive inc is such a good game. silly little queer guys (gender neutral) that have advanced spy gadgets? the agency hiring gay people to kill each other? the Implication that two of the agents were exes (lesbian) and two more are in an intricate lupin&sherlock relationship? bringing a slingshot or darts and sword to a gunfight (AND WINNING)? hand shotgun??? Anxiety GuyTM? scheming woman who can teleport (the watsonian explanation is that she paid everyone off. gameplay-wise you just teleport)? knight bering costume 2 (SHE COULD GRIND ME TO A DUST AND I'D THANK HER FOR IT)????
also funky music and great graphics and Lots Of Shenanigans (from larcin in particular). what more could you ask for.

Very excited to boot up Deceive Inc. after sooo long of putting it down. It's such a fun & interesting game! Shame it's not doing too well. They added private lobbies/bots so I don't have to deal with comp BS lol It wasn't horrible like COD. But I loved the beta/early stage of being a sneaky spy trying to steal the package/escape! It sorta became a rush/speed run to grab key cards/terminals. All I wanted was to enjoy being a derpy, sneaky spy lol 🕵️♀️🎮 💨

Playtime: 21mDeceive Inc. is a first-person multiplayer PvP hide-and-seek extraction shooter mash-up. It's the second game in this month's Humble Choice bundle, and I'll admit that I was a bit disappointed to see it.
I'd looked briefly at Deceive Inc. on Steam in the past and added it to my "Ignore" list, because it didn't really seem like my kind of thing, and having played it now, I was right.
Deceive Inc. does seem kind of unique. It's part Among Us, part Midnight Ghost Hunt, part extraction shooter, with bit of Deathloop's swagger, all by way of Fortnite's graphical styling...
...as well as Fortnite's monetisation model. It seems almost impossible to release a AA game now without including a battle pass of some kind.
It feels like so many games want to be the next Fortnite, and I don't want to pay for a battle pass in any of them, particularly a paid game (*cough* Diablo IV *cough*).
As a game, it's stylish (in that Unreal Engine 4 way) and the gameplay is OK.
The biggest problem for me is that I despise solo PvP extraction shooters [exasperated sigh in the direction of The Division 2's Dark Zone], and I just don't enjoy hide-and-seek style games that much, and mashing them up like this is like offering me peas and corn as a meal.
It might be that if I played one of the 2v2 or 3v3 modes with friends, I might enjoy it more, but if I was already down to play something with friends, this probably wouldn't be on the list of options to begin with.

It's always great to see a dev diary video where the devs truly look like they're having a blast working on a project and their personalities/love for the content just oozes out of every corner.
Deceive Inc. is an incredibly fun time -- social deception, extraction, looting… it's a mashup that fires on all cylinders and is visually striking. There's a beta this weekend but it's out the week after and definitely worth watching/playing.
