Appell and Medress originally recorded another singer on the track, but decided that a different vocal approach would be preferable. Medress then approached Orlando to do the vocals. Orlando had been a professional singer in the early 1960s.

"Bristol Stomp" is a song written in 1961 by #KalMann and #DaveAppell, two executives with #CameoParkwayRecords, for #TheDovells, a #doowop singing group from #Philadelphia who recorded it for Cameo-Parkway later that year. Appell produced and arranged the track and Cameo-Parkway's house band served as the studio musicians.
