Под впечатлением от недавно ◥посчённого #darksynth альбома In the Name of Blood от Sierra Veins, я взялась отслушивать их дискографию. Начала с первого LP ◥A Story of Anger.
Ретроспективно между альбомами чётко слышно развитие коллективного голоса.It will only make me stronger
Жанровые направления здесь практически такие же как на In the Name of Blood, однако, некоторые треки удивили мягкостью. В частности 02 Stronger и 07 Holding onto Nothing – это вполне себе обычный #pop, пусть жестковатый.Take back control
Композиционный репертуар тоже очень схож с таковым будущего альбома с некоторыми исключениями. Выделяются треки 04 Power, 07 Holding onto Nothing и 09 In My Veins. С четвёртым помогал Мсьё Брут (Carpenter Brut), и, похоже, от него спермы в треке больше, чем от Сиеры. Седьмой, нехарактерно мягкий (но не слабый), трек – коллаб с HEALTH. Девятый отличился ‘кинематографичностью’, которой на будущем альбоме значительно меньше.
Take back the power
Сходятся альбомы тем, что ни на том, ни на другом нет явного проходняка. Все композиции сильны. Это та самая ‘хорошая’ #музыка о которой говорят любители соответствующих жанров.
Однако, равно ли эти альбомы сильны своими тематическими аспектами, мне (и, надеюсь, тебе) предстоит выяснить в ходе перепрослушиваний. Пока жизнеутверждение (именно его я считаю темой альбома) ярче всех излучает трек 04 Power. Он очень незатейлив, структурно аскетичен, и от того бьёт прямо в лоб, а эмоциональные Брютовские синты дают принять его удары инструментально – в целях самообучения.
