Palworld 1.0 dropped yesterday, which means 3/4 of my household is currently playing the game. Eldest never really got into it as far as I can tell, and they are down a computer anyways (they have a laptop, but that's for schoolwork and doesn't really have oomph for gaming; our IT guy is going to repair their desktop soon). But yeah... I accidentally picked a male voice for my female Trainer, so I'm having sheer delight at her very masculine GUR ARGH noises. xD
Anyhoos, what else. The heat wave rolls on. If I'm honest, it's gone from heat wave to just like... scorching summer. I mean, we're mid-July, so why would we get a cool spell this side of September? As long as it's not too bad when we're on holiday the other side of town...

We had an email last week letting us know that the school wanted to try again to get our youngest's autism assessed. My brain broke slightly yesterday and I said I was working on her autism application -- please sir, may I have some of the good stuff? xD But in a way it is, since the school benefits from her getting a proper diagnosis in the form of funding to get her further help. I sent them a few bits this morning, so hopefully second time is the charm.
Past that, just normal Monday things. Hair is washed, yarn progresses slowly, gaming happens. It goes.

I was reminded again earlier that communicating with my teen often has us going at cross purposes. They often feel like I'm criticising and putting them down, when I'm doing my best to give positive, uplifting words and acknowledgement of how neurospiciness is hard. They had a bit of a rant at me about how I let their sibling get away with everything, how I 'make excuses' for their behaviour, and it's like... no? I'm explaining their flavour of spicy includes these behaviours you don't like? It's not excusing, it's explaining. But anyways, I made sure to acknowledge their feelings on the matter, and will do my best to think about how I can communicate better with them.
(All is well and it was productive in the scheme of things. I still recognise that they communicate better with their father and am glad that is so.)
The heat has started cranking up here. It's supposed to be pushing 40C/104F this week, which, unprecedented. I had to briefly leave the house to take some returns to the Post Office for spouse and mother-in-law, but thankfully it wasn't too bad outdoors in the scheme of things (quite happy to be back in my a/c though).
MiL was delighted when I called to let her know it was done. She showed up for dinner yesterday with the item and like, all her notes from when we'd ordered it the week before and it's like... returns are easy? We have a label printed and attached in less than 2 minutes? It's all 'technology' to her, and how well I do it all while type touching (100~wpm/98% accuracy, holla). And it's like, this is what I've grown up with! I was taught to type in school, back in the bad old days when they'd slap your hand if you peeked under the box to see your hands.
Those are the main things really. Just curled up with games-and-energy, and should probably fish my knitting out. My Valheim rebase continues afoot, though the current work is mainly cosmetic. I've laying out nice stone areas for my smelters and forges, which is nice. I never quite go so far. I then need to get the farmland areas laid out. There's mainly flat blank space waiting for it, so that'll be nice.

Spouse made a decision last night -- and now we have a new printer in situ. We'd been planning on replacing the current one (an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710), because it had gotten a bit ghost-y when wifi print requests came in... which was all the print requests. It's been replaced with a Brother MFC-L3740CDWE, which. Lasers! I'm pretty sure I've never had a colour laser printer before. We pretty much all printed out random test images for science, and were pleased with the results.
I noticed yesterday that my rampant sugar cravings have pushed back closer to normal. Is my fatigue slightly less chronic now? Who knows. It is sort of a relief because it was like, super over the top levels of 'need it now'. It's still slightly elevated, but hopefully it means I'm almost back to some version of normal.
For now, yarn, games, the usual. Currently trying to climb up the side of a mountain in 'Valheim' to get to Moder. I *finally* found a vegvisir giving a location clue yesterday, which, good. I'm hoping that if I start again, I won't get stuck going through so much Mistlands to get to a Mountains biome boss. *shakes head*

Vivi has been a super clingy baby today. Youngest has spared me for a moment by scooping him for a cuddle; he is not impressed. I'm not sure what has gotten into him. He doesn't seem distressed or anything, just wanting infinite cuddles. Maybe there's something in the air; Raven tried to climb me in the bathroom this morning for cuddles of his own.
Past that, still dicking around in Valheim. Trying to get gooder at the Plains biome while hunting for Moder in the Mountain biomes. I'll get there eventually!

Today has gone well enough. I had a fayre this morning, and woke up promptly at stupid o'clock so I would have time for caffeine and existing before having to drive down the road. I only made £1 over my table fee, but you know what? It's fine. Got me and youngest out of the house together. She had zero sales, but she was already realistically prepared for that. We had nice rolls and some very nice cake, and she took advantage of the play equipment at the hall.
I frogged my sock while there because I'd forgotten my pattern, got confused reading the screenshot spouse helpfully sent me, and was like, WHELP. On the upside, I managed a cast-on I'd not managed before. Like, I know casting on over two needles is easy on paper, but I'd never quite managed it before. The edge is mainly tidy, and the stretch is *awesome*. So, worth it, I guess!
Past that, 'Valheiming' continues apace. I finally managed to find some silver deposits, which is pleasing. I was starting to worry I was missing the obvious. I've also got 'Victoria 3' up, and have realised that they've changed stuff so I have to relearn it. Gah. *laughs*. It's fine, I was always going to do the tutorial~ level again to refresh myself.
So yeah. Definitely quality lumping time for now. *nodnods*

It's been a pleasant enough day to have the windows open; the breeze has even felt a bit chilly, which. Bliss. Work is done for the week, dinner is going to be McDonalds, so. Good start for the weekend.
My ear is still feeling stupid, but like. It's not itchy. Outside of when I poke my tragus, it doesn't hurt. It honestly just feels/sounds like it needs to pop, but won't (trust me, I've tried xD). The main thing is that it's not affected my balance, for which I am fiercely grateful.
Anyhoos! Sock is going well. I should easily be able to complete it this weekend and start the next pair, focus permitting.

Breaking in a new keyboard as of yesterday. The 'y' key on my desktop keyboard had stopped working, and the 'w' on occasion as well. It's a bit quieter than the outgoing one, but at least it's got a good mechanical feel to it. I likes that. Just got to get used to the slightly different haptics and I should be good to go.
I did break down and buy 'Paralives' yesterday. It's okay so far! I was immediately in love with the random house I bought for my starter; it's a tall narrow house with a few empty areas to grow into. I'm also poking along in 'Valheim' too. I might actually make it to a third biome at some point, ha ha. I had found a few naturally in my last game, but I always feel the need to start at the beginning pretty much any time I return to a game.
Right, zoned out and got distracted by shiny objects. Off I go then. xD

The week has been survived. You'd think for a short work week it would have felt like... shorter, but no. It felt soooo looong. Eldest commented in the same vein, so... in good company?
Also in good company is a lil planned payday treat. Eldest messaged spouse about Paralives, and it's like, yes. We have heard of it, we intend to buy it. So he went ahead and gifted them a copy, and I think the other three of us will buy one as well now rather than later.
For now, just mucking around in "Valheim" and feeling exhausted. It is what it is.

Another hot day here in the UK. Not that I have to deal with it because indoors, and directly under the downstairs a/c. Just curled up with games and knitting, and basking in the draught.
Last day of the Premier League season, and for our sins, our household supports Spurs. xD xD So uh, squeaky bum time eXtreme today, ha ha. The Beeb points out we've got an 8 out of 9 shot of staying up... but any of us who have ever played a game know that a 11% chance of failure is still high.
Right. Stay safe and cool y'all.
<3

I'm indoors. I'm under the a/c. Yet I still feel like I'm wilting, heh. Like, I'm not particularly uncomfortable temperature-wise, but somehow it's slugging me in the exhaustion button. Rude. Maybe another round of caffeine? But first, getting at least one pint of water in me so I'm up to two so far today. *laughs*
And hey, it's not like I have to go anywhere for the next week. I can stay parked under the a/c and taking in mainly easy. Which, good. And in the interim, I'm just doing my best to make sure what chores that require me to like, move at all are paced well. I know spouse wants to get the kitchen turned back around from the current disaster state, so I made sure to get a round of recycling out. I looked at the sink, but *sad trombone*. Still, hopefully a few of those, or getting some rubbish out. If I can manage that, I'll feel like I've taken some of the strain off of my poor spouse.

Keeping busy. I was getting my lil freebie crochet hearts replenished last night when I got slammed by a massive wave of brain fog. Like... brain fog so bad sewing a bit of ribbon on is too daunting? Yeah. Rude AF. I managed to push it back a smidge with caffeine though, so I got most of the task finished last night.
As for today (hair washing aside, and done, woo), I'm redoing my dice pride bracelets. I currently have an opening option available, but as nobody buys it, I'm reconfiguring them all to be closed//on stretchy elastic. I will change the listings to note that hey, I can do different sizes, but here's the default one. I've been paring that down a bead for the most part to try and be 8 to 8.25 inches, because gender neutral jewellery, so. We'll see.
Bonus: I had one bracelet explode on me, so I ended up getting the vacuuming and removing some of the dust bunnies under my desk. I'm sure they will plot my demise in the night; I can only hope Sir Vivi fends them off of his territory, ha ha.
Right, back to work. Lots to do, lots to do.

Nothing going on today, which, perfect. Gaming, working on my sock, enjoying a lil breeze. I ended up dipping back into 'Cities Skylines II' for a bit; I'm trying very hard to get my head around better city planning with transportation in mind. I'd not played since the bike stuff came out, so getting my head around bikeable cities as well.
Anyways.

Existing persists. I don't feel as 'good' as I did yesterday, but I don't feel as bad as the day before. So that's... something? I got part of a chore done that I wanted to, so that's good too.
Less good is finding out that if eldest wants to take the bus they are currently taking, to go to the same school for sixth form, is gonna cost us £1,100 a year. Right. Because we have a spare £92 a month floating around for that. *sighs* We'll figure something out, but it's like... do you even want these kids to continue their semi-mandated education?!
Anyways. Back to games-and-yarn.

New phone has arrived! Which means spending ages making it look as much like the old one as possible, ha ha. It's coming along. I've got the look mainly sorted, so now it's getting logged back into everything.
*makes it so*
Past that, I'm in a slight gah, what to play lull. There's new content coming out for Anno 117: Pax Romana later this month, but like... I'm done with it for the second? I mean, I bought the year 1 pass, but. Ready for something else now. I would still prefer something I can watch tick by, because I'm making great headway on my sock (finally). I'll figure something out. Probably.

I'm feeling completely run over today, what a surprise. I didn't get as much work-work done as I wanted, but never mind. It is what it is. Now I'm just kind of doinking my own brain that wants to tryyyy to do photos again when, no. We have negative spoons, please try again tomorrow.
Heh, and the day has gone. So it goes.

I am definitely in recovery mode today. I woke up *SUPER LATE* (12:48pm), and have been limping around the times I do get out of my chair. I'd commented to my beloved @moonrabbit that I should expect it, since I overdid it the entire weekend after our declutterer visited, and have been in recovery since.
So of course, this is now the day that house reorg is happening. The eldest wanted their desktop moved upstairs, which we agreed was reasonable. It also means that it gives the younger more space downstairs, which is fair compensation for her having -zero- room in her bedroom (it was a small room to start with, and the previous owner fitted a wardrobe that takes up a third of the room). We're not against getting the wardrobe potentially removed in future... but that requires us to get the stuff we're storing out of it. *laughs*

Whew, I'm a tired lil bean. Work was pretty quickly done today so yay to that. Most of the brain squish is converting my flag patterns into heart flags. It's not like, hard hard, and thankfully I've only had to come up with two slightly different sized hearts to accommodate flag conversion, but it's still more work than I realised. Which, to be fair, is pretty much creating each pattern from nearly scratch, so. No idea why I thought it would be easier than it is. *chuckles*
Past that, trying to rub a few spoons together to tackle the tidying chore I would like to do/finish today. Our entryway has been a mess for some time, and I'd like for people to, yanno, be able to walk through it. I got some stuff stashed in the garage yesterday, and am slowly moving stuff to proper locations right now. I've also spent some time getting cat litter up off the floor in the downstairs bathroom; the drifts under the boxes had gotten uh... deep. xD
Right, what else. Happy Friday I guess!
-
Caught up on work, woo, etc. Which means I then turned around and started doing too many lil chores around the house, ha ha. Having said that, I feel like I'm making a bit of a difference, so that's pretty nice.
Past that, gaming and trying to remember to catch my breath. Digging into my taffy delivery; I got 2 kilos, so maybe it'll last more than a day. xD
I've also decided what I want to do for cross-stitch itch right now -- take my pride flag patterns, and convert them into heart patterns. I figure I can offer those for sale, and if someone wants to pay me to make one for them, that can happen too. Having said that, I'm sure I'll make an enby and bi for my own environs, hee hee.

I've got my area just about tidied up; my head appreciates it. There's still stuff that needs shifting around, but it's good enough for this precise second.
Bonus -- got a craft chore done. My bi pride necklace went missing when we went out on Monday, so I had to make myself a new one. I remembered I already had some dice of the right colours pre-drilled, so it wasn't too many spoons more to push through and get it done.
Right. Time to be half-assedly social.

My head is in a swirl right now. Like, not thinking about anything in particular, but feeling like I've forgotten things I should be doing//am not doing enough to keep the brain quiet. Having said that, I super slept late today and feel even more worn out than usual, so that's probably contributing. Existing, innit. Ruuuude.
((having said that, I've been trying to tidy my area, and I'm waiting for something to come in related to that, so. *brain*))
Ah well. Existing is just like that some times.

((having said that, I've been trying to tidy my area, and I'm waiting for something to come in related to that, so. *brain*))
Ah well. Existing is just like that some times.

Nothing to report today really. Just curled up gaming and being a lump. I'm still trying to beat the Economic Dominance challenge on Victoria 3; I'm about to restart back to a specific save for the uh... third? fourth? time and see if I can get it right. Eventually, ha ha.

Nothing in particular today -- just gaming and being a lump. I've been having a hard time getting to sleep lately, which has knock on effects. Having said that, I reputedly fall asleep within minutes, but I think spouse mistakes me being still and breathing evenly for sleep sometimes. Or maybe I'm just a lil butt who gets stressed out if they don't fall asleep in 7 minutes, who knows. I do get there and mainly stay under. Still. Chronic fatigue, innit.
For now, trying to get a few lil chores done. Which means I'll probably overdo it, but ah well. *chuckles*

2:1 oat flour to wheat flour, an egg, a splash of milk, a buncha herbs and spices and a little bit of garlic and a tiny bit of ginger, blended it all, oiled up frying pan, let it cook slowly, flip and steam with a lid, fill with cream cheese
bingo :3
